Daniel McCarthy, Jr

Daniel Richard McCarthy, Jr., 54, a resident of Waverly Twp., PA, died unexpectedly on Friday at home.

Born November 21, 1962 in Richmond Hill, Queens, he was the son of Daniel Richard and Barbara Ann (Coviello) McCarthy, Sr.

Daniel was a 1981 graduate of Syosset High School on Long Island where he was an all around star athlete. He was an entrepreneur of various food industries, his favorite being Carvel Ice Cream establishments. Daniel was an avid sports fan of his beloved Mets and Jets.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Amanda, Gina, and Natalie McCarthy of Bayport; his former wife: Nancy McCarthy of Bayport; his mother: Barbara Ann Forester of Waverly Twp., PA; and brother: Craig McCarthy of Waverly Twp., PA.

Funeral Mass: Friday at 10:30am at St. Benedict Joseph Labre Church, 94-40 118th St., S. Richmond Hill, NY 11419. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21st, at 4pm at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 with a visitation prior from 2:30-4PM.
