Carolyn Rippon Notari-Byrne

Carolyn (Rippon) Notari-Byrne, 81, of Clarks Summit, passed away on July 26 th , 2021 from complications of Alzheimer’s at Aventura at Creekside.  She was the beloved wife of the late John P. Notari and Owen G. Byrne.

Born February 23, 1940 in Binghamton, New York, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Cuthbert and Cecilia (Lawrence) Rippon.

Carolyn graduated from Scott Township High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Marywood University. She worked as a preschool teacher for many years. She was loved by all of her students and their parents.

Carolyn was a member of the Methodist faith and prayed every day. She loved most spending time with her four grandkids, especially on family vacations at the beach. Carolyn also loved to go antiquing and was frequently found shopping on QVC. She enjoyed her swim class and trading recipes with Clare and Joan. Her peanut butter pies were legendary and were an essential part of every family gathering.

Survivors include her son: Christopher Notari and wife Janel of Clarks Summit; her daughter: Lisa Longstreet and husband Sam of Clarks Summit; granddaughter: Erica Longstreet of Columbia, MD, grandson, Tyler Longstreet of Waverly, grandson, Nicholas Notari of Clarks Summit, and a granddaughter Lauryn Notari of Clarks Summit.

She was preceded in death by her aunt, Bertha J. Rippon and her sister, Nancy J. Rothrock.

A private cremation will take place at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service's on-site crematory. A graveside service will be private in Greenwood Cemetery, Schultzville, PA.
